TTT: All About Audio Freebie

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Oh I’m so excited for this week’s TTT as my favorite thing in the world is podcasts. I keep trying to get into audiobooks and just can’t (so any suggestions on that front would be awesome). Podcasts for me are everything though: long car rides, when running, and mainly when sitting at work (cube life forever). So here are the 8 podcasts I listen to when I’m pretending to work.

Again With This: Beverly Hills 90210

The editors at Previously.TV (née Television Without Pity) re-watch the gloriousness of Beverly Hills 90210. I loved being able to watch reruns on Soap Net in the summer and now get to experience through the appropriate filter: snarky adults. Also they put up visual aids on the site for each episode which are a can’t miss.

Favorite Episode:

“Again With This: Hey, David, Check This Out!”- 2015.10.16S02.E14

(not the best episode, but a top ten reactionary recap)

Bitch Sesh: A Real Housewives Breakdown

Casey Wilson and Danielle Schneider (Hotwives Of Las Vegas) LOVE the Real Housewives on Bravo, and they’re sharing that excitement with you on Bitch Sesh! Listen in to hear the ladies dish on the season’s wildest moments, answer to all your burning Housewives questions, drink Housewives-branded wine, and bring on some super special guests.

Favorite Episode:

Ep #14 – Objection, Your Honor (Jerry O’Connell, Amy Barham)

Gilmore Guys

Veteran fan Kevin T. Porter and newcomer Demi Adejuyigbe go deep into Gilmore Girls episode by episode with special guests to analyze, praise, mock, and gab about all things Stars Hollow and beyond in their hilarious Gilmore Guys Podcast.

Favorite Episode:

Any Episode where the guest is Sarah Heyward, Anthony Troli, or Aisha Muharrar

My Favorite Murder

Ready yourself for a murder adventure hosted by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, two lifelong fans of true crime stories. Each episode the girls tell each other their favorite tales of murder, and hear hometown crime stories from friends and fans. Check your anxiety at the door, ’cause Karen & Georgia are dying to discuss death.

Favorite Episode:

“30 – The F*ck Word Murder Mystery Show”

Pop Culture Happy Hour

Pop Culture Happy Hour is a lively chat about books, movies, music, television, comics and pretty much anything else that strikes a nerve, all in a weekly roundtable from NPR. Features “Monkey See” blogger Linda Holmes and an occasionally rowdy cast of characters.

Favorite Episode:

JULY 29, 2016 – “Stranger Things and Weddings”

*Also they have a small batch interview with the Duffer brothers which is fantastic

The Mortified Podcast

Witness adults sharing their most embarrassing childhood artifacts (journals, letters, poems, lyrics, plays, home movies, art) with others, in order to reveal stories about their lives. Hear grown men and women confront their past with tales of their first kiss, first puff, worst prom, fights with mom, life at bible camp, worst hand job, best mall job, and reasons they deserved to marry Jon Bon Jovi.

Favorite Episode:

“Sex By Numbers” – Posted: Sun, 07 Aug 2016

“Joan: 50 Shades of Awkward” – Posted: Mon, 06 Jul 2015

The Nerdist Podcast

This podcast is basically just Chris Hardwick talking about stuff and things with his two nerdy friends Jonah Ray and Matt Mira, and usually someone more famous than all of them.

Favorite Episode:

Guys We F****d

Each week, Corinne Fisher & Krystyna Hutchinson (together known as the comedy duo Sorry About Last Night) interview a gentleman they slept with. Corinne & Krystyna want to make the world a more sex-positive place…one candid story of intercourse at a time. (If you start listening now they’ve moved on from this format to just interviewing people they know about their relationship with sex: from their parents talking to them about to their first time to trying a find new girls in a post-divorce life.

Wait – there is a podcast analyzing 90210?!!! I have to listen to that! It’s been so long since I watched all the episodes (I watched it in real time in high school, followed by Melrose Place….it’s what everyone did on Weds nights)…I just dated myself!
